Personal Protection Officer (Level 4)

The Level IV Training Course (minimum 15 hours) and test is required for all* personal protection officers. This training course must be administered by a licensed Level IV Training School and administered by a licensed Level IV Instructor.

 


In this course students will learn:

 

  • Concepts in Personal Protection

  • Body Guarding Strategies

  • The Use of Force Continuum

  • Unarmed Defensive Tactics


Once completing the Personal Protection Officers training, students will need to apply for their Personal Protection Officer Authorization through a licensed security company. 


The mandatory 15 hour course will be conducted with an additional day for the range.

 

The application for PPO has the following Requirements:


- MMPI (Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory) administered by a licensed psychiatrist. 


- Must have a Security Officer Commission, or be applying for one at the time applying for PPO.

- Must be at least 21 years of age.

Required Equipment:

  • Pen and notebook

  • Proper attire for learning (No shorts or open toed shoes)

  • Concealable holster (IWB or OWB) that will not collapse when trying to reholster weapon

  • Concealed carry handgun

  • 250 rounds of ammunition

  • Extra shirt or vest that you can conceal your weapon with

  • 3 Magazines (Minimum) with holder

  • Eye protection

  • Hearing protection

  • Ball cap with a bill

  • Bring 1 or 2 old or unwanted t-shirts for range day
